EDM allows us the possibility of cutting any conductive material, such us:
- Steel
- Titanium
- Copper
- Aluminium
- Graphite
- Hastelloy
- Inconel
- Kovar
- Polycrystalline diamonds
- Conductive ceramics
- Metallic tint composites
-
WIRE EDM
Wire EDM is machining process that is based on using a copper or brass wire to cut any contour of a conductive part. IAM has 7 wire EDM cutting machines.
-
DIE SINK EDM
Die sinking EDM is the manufacture of a part by using a copper or graphite electrode with the final design shape. The electrode penetrates the raw material, which must be conductive, until the final shape is obtained. IAM has 2 penetration cutting machines.
-
DRILLING EDM
Drilling EDM consists of making tiny holes (between 0.3 and 3 mm diameter) and very deep (30/1 length / diameter ratio) using concentric rotating electrodes. IAM has 1 drilling EDM machine.
